The Graduate Certificate in Applied Finance is an introductory course designed to provide a general understanding of areas in Applied Finance such as financial statement analysis, managerial finance, statistics and corporate governance. Upon successful completion of the Graduate Certificate in Applied Finance, you may enrol in a Master of Applied Finance and be eligible for credit for the four subjects completed within the Graduate Certificate of Professional Accounting. Progression to other Masters programs, including the MBA, may also be possible with some credit. We value the importance of prior learning and work experience in this course and understand that not all mature age working professionals have completed an undergraduate degree. If you fit this profile, still apply for the course, we will assess your other relevant tertiary qualifications or substantial relevant professional or managerial experience. Course Learning Outcomes Course Learning Outcomes are statements of learning achievement that are expressed in terms of what the learner is expected to know, understand and be able to do upon completion of a course. Students graduating from this course will be able to demonstrate: Demonstrate technical, theoretical and industry knowledge of local and international finance. Critically apply technical, theoretical and industry knowledge and skills to propose solutions to routine and/ or emerging problems in finance. Exercise judgment to analyze problems in diverse contexts using economic, finance and institutional perspectives. Communicate in oral and written forms with relevant stakeholders. Collaborate with others in order to achieve outputs relevant to finance. Course Structure To qualify for award of the degree of Graduate Certificate in Applied Finance course code 2121, a student must complete a total of at least 24 credit points.

A recognised bachelor's or master's degree, or a tertiary qualification with a duration of at least 3 years full-time equivalent plus 3 years full-time equivalent managerial/professional work experience. Applicants with 5 years full-time equivalent managerial/professional work experience in finance will also be considered. English Requirements IELTS Academic Overall Score of 6.0, reading 6.0, writing 6.0, listening 5.0, speaking 5.0; TOEFL (Internet-based) score of 70, reading 18, writing 18, listening 12, speaking 12; C1 Advanced Cambridge or C2 Proficiency Cambridge: 169; PTE Academic overall score of 54 (Reading and Writing 54, Speaking and Listening 47).
