Civil Engineering (with Integrated Foundation Year) BEng (Hons)

This Civil Engineering BEng (Hons) with integrated foundation year course offers a preparatory year before starting degree-level studies. Upon successful completion of the foundation year, students automatically progress to the first year of our Civil Engineering BEng(Hons) course. Maintaining a strong interdisciplinary focus, our civil engineering students enjoy strong links with our construction management and environmental engineering courses, as well as a dynamic, flexible structure of options to give you the best possible start in your future career. Graduates are well equipped for careers in consultancy, government, contracting and research. Previous students are working for organisations including the Environment Agency, Atkins, Halcrow, Hyder Consulting, Costain, Balfour Beatty, Mott MacDonald, MWH, Ove Arup and Partners, South East Water, Southern Water, HR Wallingford, Laing O’Rourke and InRock. This degree is accredited as: fully satisfying the educational base for an Incorporated Engineer (IEng); partially satisfying the educational base for a Chartered Engineer (CEng). A programme of accredited Further Learning will be required to complete the educational base for CEng.
