Having turned 50 in 2017, La Trobe University was ranked in the Top 50 Under 50 Universities (QS World University Rankings 2017) and is a young institution with a lot of ambition. Research carried out at the University is ranked among the top 1.4% in the world (QS World University Rankings 2017) and facilities include a world-class molecular science complex, an impressive law school and even a wildlife sanctuary.

The Career Ready team at La Trobe make it their mission to help students prepare for life after graduation. Whether students need help developing their CV, advice on how to find a job, interview practice or one-to-one career counselling – the Career Ready team is the place to go.
La Trobe offers a wide variety of support services so that international students feel at home in Australia as soon as they arrive. These include residential mentors to help first-year students transition smoothly into university life in a different country, an International Student Advisory Network and one-to-one support on anything from visa issues to problems with study workload.
Students can pick from nine different campus locations, meaning they have a choice of what will work best for them. From a campus in Melbourne, the world’s most liveable city, to the smaller Mildura campus, home to La Trobe’s Freshwater Research Facility, or the Sydney campus, there is something for everyone.
With over 7,000 overseas students from 110 different countries, over 20 official university sport clubs and a huge number of societies to get involved with, La Trobe is a brilliant home away from home for international students.

La Trobe offers international students a wide range of accommodation options to choose from, depending on their requirements and budget. Options include on-campus residential accommodation and off-campus accommodation.
Accommodation Services at La Trobe will provide eligible international students with temporary accommodation for a period of one to three weeks when they first arrive at the University, chargeable at the daily rate of the residence in which they will be temporarily located.
There is also a wide range of off-campus housing that students can explore, each with different benefits and costs. Sharing a rented house or flat with other people is generally the most economical, flexible and popular form of off-campus accommodation. Students can either choose to move into an existing shared house, or organise a group to establish a new shared house.
